Gmail: Super Clear Buttons

December 23rd, 2010

I was just using Gmail and was closing my window, when Google gave me this warning:

Your standard error message would say “Cancel” or “Continue”. I would typically support minimalism, but in this case, saying more makes me think less – and decide what I’d like to do faster.

This is actually a feature of Chrome, not Gmail specifically.

I do agree, however, that it is far better than Firefox’s “Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page.” I’m not sure what the other browser vendors offer of the top of my head, but I’d wager Chrome comes out on top.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought this was specific to gmail, since it was just a customization of the button text, rather than a browser defaults. Either way, I think the extra detail helps me decide faster. That, I like.
