I’ve tried to go completely digital and paperless, which means I don’t have a printer. And, since I’ve been paperless, a scanner never made sense.
But, there are certain moments where paper is an absolute necessity. The company I’m working with doesn’t take digital signatures. Here’s what I had to go through to sign a 10 page contract:
1. Call around and compare printing / scanning prices. Prices vary significantly.
2. Spend $2 to take the bus
3. Walk 10 minutes
4. Spend 20 minutes printing, filling out and then signing the 10 page contract
5. Pay $7 for computer time and printing
6. Walk 10 minutes
7. Take the bus
I’ve had to do this 3 times this week. There has to be a better system.
